Barbara Novakovic (born in 1963 in Celje, Slovenia) took studies in Sociology of Culture and History of Art at the Faculty of Arts, and graduated in Drama Acting from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT), University of Ljubljana. She had acted in several non-institutional stage and video productions until, in 1994, she established the Theatre Muzeum and, in 1996, the Muzeum Institute of Art Production, Mediation and Publishing. Currently, she is the artistic director and executive producer of the Muzeum Ljubljana program. She also works as a curator and theatre director. Since 2013, Barbara Novakovič has been a Ph.D. student at ISH – Institutum studiorum humanitatis, Ljubljana, working on the doctoral thesis “The Dynamics of Spaces in the Arts”. She has edited several publications and written texts for exhibition catalogues: Peter Greenaway’s “Book”, 2000; Peter Greenaway: “Map to Paradise from Ljubljana”, 2001; “Continental Breakfast: Memory (W)hole”, 2005; Paperwork, 2008; “I was disappointed by Lara Croft – Screen Images from Computer Games”, 2009, the 10th International Biennale of Miniature Art, Gornji Milanovac, 2010.
